If you need to download reports or documents from BrightPay Cloud, similar to how you do in the desktop version, there are options to control where your files are saved.
Default Download Location
By default, when you export a report or payroll document in your internet browser, it typically saves to your Downloads folder.
Choosing Your Save Location in Google Chrome (Mac or Windows)
- When you download or export a file, Chrome often prompts you to select a location.
- You can choose a specific folder if you have preferred locations set up.
- Chrome also has a setting called Always ask where to save, which, when enabled, will prompt you every time to choose a save location, ensuring you can save files exactly where you want.
How to Enable "Ask Where to Save" in Chrome (Desktop)
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Click Downloads in the left-hand sidebar.
- Turn on the toggle for "Ask where to save each file before downloading"
Saving Files as Different Formats
- If you want to save a file as an Excel document, you can change the file extension from `.csv` to `.xlsx` to save it in the desired format.
Changing Download Folder in Safari (Mac)
- Open Safari.
- Go to Safari > Settings/Preferences.
- Click the General tab.
- Find File download location.
- Choose Other… to select your preferred folder.
- Alternatively, you can select Ask for each download if you want Safari to prompt you every time for a save location.
Tip: If you prefer to always choose where to save files, enabling the "Ask for each download"
