You can now apply an access rule to mark specific resources as unavailable to employees on the Employee Portal. This gives you precise control over which payroll documents and information employees can view, without affecting permissions for other users.

You can now mark individual employees as confidential, restricting their records to authorised users only. This is particularly useful for managing payroll data for directors, senior staff, or anyone whose details need to be kept separate from general access.

Users can now be restricted to specific departments within BrightPay Cloud. This gives you greater control over who can view and manage payroll data across different parts of the organisation.

Team members added to a bureau organisation now automatically have Client Portal access to all employers within that organisation. Administrators can adjust or remove access for specific users or employers as needed.

PDF exports from BrightPay Cloud can now be password-protected. You can set a password at the point of export, or configure a default password at employer level, giving you greater control over access to sensitive payroll documents.

BrightPay Cloud now remembers the CC address or list of addresses you use when emailing payslips to employees. Once saved, your preferred CC recipients are automatically populated each time you send payslips, saving time and reducing the risk of missing anyone.

You can now set a default reply-to address for payslip emails. When employees reply to their payslips, replies are directed to the address you specify — useful where payslips are sent from a shared or no-reply address.

Payslip emails now include the date and timestamp of when they were sent. This makes it easier to verify delivery and respond to employee queries about when their payslip was issued.

You can now send notification emails to employees when new resources — such as documents or notices — are added to the Employee Portal, letting them know that new content is available for them to view.

BrightPay Cloud can now send an automated reminder email to the employer when payslips become available in the Client Portal. This keeps employers informed so they can review or share payslips promptly, without needing to log in to check.

BrightPay Cloud Ireland now sends an automated reminder email on the 16th of each month, ahead of the Revenue PAYE/PRSI/USC liability due date on the 23rd. The reminder can be configured to go to the bureau, the employer, or both, and can be turned on or off at employer level.

Payslips for an entire pay period can now be downloaded in bulk from the Client Portal — either as a single combined PDF or as a zip file of individual payslip PDFs.

When a payroll entry request is pending approval in the Client Portal, you can now download a draft version of the payslips before the payroll is finalised. Draft payslips are clearly marked as preview only and are not visible to employees on the Employee Portal until the payroll has been finalised and released.

Bureau users can now create payroll entry requests or payroll approval requests in bulk across multiple employers at the same time. Rather than raising each request individually, you can send a batch of requests to multiple employers in a single action, saving time when processing payroll across a large client portfolio.

When sending Employee Self-Service Portal invitation emails, leavers are now deselected by default. This prevents invitation emails from being sent to former employees inadvertently, reducing the likelihood of incorrect communications.

You can now generate a side-by-side comparison of payroll figures across any two pay periods, accessible under Payroll > More. Select the employees and pay elements you want to compare, and the report highlights where values have increased, decreased, or remained the same. Reports can be downloaded, printed, or emailed.

A new Bureau Statistics Report is now available at organisation level, giving bureaus a consolidated view of payroll metrics across their entire client portfolio in one place.

The Payroll Journal can now be printed or exported as a PDF directly from BrightPay Cloud, giving you a formatted copy of the journal ready to file or share alongside your payroll records.

Departmental costing figures are now displayed directly within the payroll section, giving you an immediate view of payroll costs broken down by department as you process each pay period — without needing to run a separate report.

A new Employee Count Report is available, showing headcount by pay period with a breakdown of starters and leavers. The report can be exported as a PDF or CSV.

Custom report templates can now be copied from one employer file to another within BrightPay Cloud, saving time when setting up reporting for additional employer files.

You can now select multiple report types for the same pay period and produce them in a single export or email — either as a combined PDF or as individual PDFs. This removes the need to generate, download, and email each report separately.

You can now control the order in which employees appear in PDF and CSV report exports and payslip batch downloads. Ordering options include alphabetical by surname or first name, by employee number, and by department.

Employer notes are now accessible from a dedicated tab in the Employer section, making them quicker to find and manage. Notes can be added, edited, and reviewed without navigating away from the employer record.

BrightPay Cloud now displays a warning when one or more leavers are not included in the bank payment file. This helps you catch any omissions before the payment file is finalised, reducing the need for manual corrections after the fact.
