If you have moved mid year to BrightPay Cloud and have Employees that are part of Pension Scheme, you will need to ensure that the Pension figures are entered for Employees within the Employees Menu > Mid Year Totals:
This will ensure that the Year to Date information for Pension is captured but we will also need to set the Pension Scheme(s) and Deduction(s) up in BrightPay so that they continue to be applied to the Payroll:
Adding The Pension Scheme
To add a new Pension Scheme – select Employer > Pension Schemes on the menu toolbar, followed by Add:
a) Enter the name and reference/ policy number of the pension and select the type of scheme it is from the tick box selection. An optional facility is also available should you wish to set up Default Contributions. When an employee is subsequently added to the pension scheme, these contributions will be applied by default. They can however be changed for each employee as required.
b) Click Save when all relevant fields are completed.
Applying The Pension Scheme to Employees
1) Within the ‘Additions & Deductions’ section on the employee’s payslip, click on ‘Add’ Under ‘Deduction’, then select the Pension Scheme you have setup in the Employer menu from the right hand side:
2) The pension scheme will now appear in the ‘Additions & Deductions’ section. If required, the employee, employer and Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) values can be amended. To change the basis simply change the € sign to the % sign or the % sign to € sign and enter the applicable value.
3) To add further pensions, click on ‘Add’ again and repeat the process.
4) Should you wish to edit any pensions you have set up, simply click the ‘Edit’ button. Here you will find a facility to set a pension to repeat every pay period until you choose to manually remove it or to repeat up to and including a particular pay period in the future.
5) If you wish to re-order two or more additions/deductions you have set up, an ‘Ordering’ facility is also available here.
6) If you wish to delete the pension deduction, click ‘Delete'.
