1. Where can I access the import from Connect option in BrightPay?
This option appears under > Employer > Employee Portal > More > Import Employee Portal Data from Connect.
2. If I have multiple employers in my Connect account, do I have to select the employer on the dropdown menu?
If the employer’s name matches in BrightPay cloud to what it is in Connect it will auto populate this name on the Select employer window.
3. If I import the data from Connect into the employer in BrightPay cloud can I import again if some data is missing?
No this is a one-time import only. Once the import is completed for an employer it cannot be done again. The user will get a message to say the import is complete if they try to import again.
4. Can I process this for multiple employers in bulk from Connect?
No this option can only be processed one employer at a time in BrightPay cloud.
5. What user permissions does a user need to process this import?
The user in BrightPay needs to be an administrator and needs to be an administrator on the Connect account.
6. How is the user’s information in BrightPay cloud and Connect matched?
The email address for the user in BrightPay cloud and Connect need to be the same.
7. What data will be imported?
All payslips and HR documents will come over at the one time for all. There is no option to select or deselect what documents you want to bring across.
The payslips will appear on the Employee Self Service Portal for employees.
The HR Documents will appear under the Resources section in BrightPay for the employer/user. All access rules for the HR Documents will import based on the departments and employees being the same in BrightPay cloud.
8. If I select Yes to continue to do the import option for an employer, is there a way to cancel or undo this?
No, once the Yes option on the message for the user to confirm they want to import, the import cannot be cancelled or undone once it has started.
9. How does the employee information match?
The employee information in BrightPay cloud and Connect should only flow through to the employee based on if the employee’s name, email address and PPSN match.
10. When was Brightpay Ireland Cloud first made available?
It was first released for the 2025 tax year.
11. How long does the import take to process?
Once the import has been selected the documents will be processed on a queue basis so depending on the traffic it may take up to an hour.
12. Can I now delete the details from Connect?
No - After the import of the Employee Documents has been completed in BrightPay UK cloud , if the employer or user tries to delete the employer in Connect they will get a message stating 'This employer cannot be deleted because it is linked to BrightPay Cloud'.
Note: If you have imported data from Connect to BrightPay Cloud, payslips and documents can only be viewed by employees on the Employee Self Service Portal. The information imported from Connect is not visible in the Client portal.
If the employees were previously accessing payslips and documents via the employee app while you were using Connect, there is a new BrightPay Employee app for Cloud. It can be downloaded from the iStore or Google Play Store.
Payroll processed in Cloud will not be available in Connect. Connect is only for BrightPay desktop. Employees will have to sign up for the BrightID again to access the new Employee self service portal.
