BrightPay Ireland does not currently provide a dedicated Gender Pay Gap Reporting module in the same way it supports statutory payroll functions such as PAYE, USC and PRSI. However, BrightPay can support your gender pay gap reporting obligations in several practical ways.
Core payroll data to support gender pay gap reporting
Gender pay gap reporting relies on complete and accurate pay data. BrightPay maintains the core information you need, including:
- Detailed pay information per employee (e.g. basic pay, overtime, bonus payments, benefits).
- Support for different working patterns, including full‑time, part‑time and variable‑hours employees.
- Employee lifecycle and pay period information, such as:
- Employment start dates
- Termination dates
- Payroll frequency and pay periods
Because this data is already stored and maintained in BrightPay, the underlying pay information required for gender pay gap analysis is available for reporting and export.
Reporting and data export for external analysis
BrightPay does not generate a complete gender pay gap report (as required under the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021). Instead, it provides flexible reporting and export options so you can perform the necessary analysis outside BrightPay.
BrightPay’s reporting features allow you to:
Run payroll reports by:
- Employee
- Department
- Pay item or pay element
- Export employee and pay data to CSV or Excel.
- Create custom reports (depending on your BrightPay version), enabling you to:
- Include only relevant pay elements (e.g. regular pay, bonus pay).
- Filter by date ranges that align with your snapshot date and reporting period.
After exporting the data, you can:
- Add a gender field where this is managed in an HR system or separate dataset.
- Use Excel, business intelligence tools or HR/pay analytics software to:
- Calculate mean and median hourly pay by gender.
- Calculate bonus pay gaps.
- Calculate the proportion of men and women in each pay quartile.
In this way, BrightPay acts as the source of accurate pay data that can be combined and analysed to produce the statutory gender pay gap metrics.
Summary
While BrightPay Ireland does not currently include a dedicated gender pay gap reporting module, it provides:
- Accurate and detailed payroll data for all employees.
- Flexible reporting and export options.
Together, these features support the preparation of gender pay gap reports required under Irish legislation.
